Wren International is a consulting company based in San Francisco, which provides a comprehensive range of business development services to pharmaceutical companies, ranging from pre-partnering strategy to the completion and implementation of partnering agreements.
The services provided by Wren International derive from Stuart Wren's 30 years' experience in business development and general management, predominantly for two of the heritage companies of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), The Wellcome Foundation Limited (Wellcome) and GlaxoWellcome.
Before relocating to San Francisco and establishing Wren International, Stuart worked at the London Headquarters of GSK where he led business development strategies and projects in major Asian markets such as China, India, Japan and Korea.
Previously Stuart lived and worked in Japan for 10 years, where he served in various senior business development roles for Wellcome's and Glaxo's Japanese joint venture operations. He played a leadership role in the merger of these companies and with the formation of GlaxoWellcome, Japan, Stuart was elected to the Board as Director of Business Development and Legal Affairs. While in this role several co-marketing and collaborative deals where concluded which have contributed to the growth of GSK Japan into a top 10 company.
Prior to being assigned to the Japanese operation, Stuart worked in various business development roles within Wellcome and in-licensed products which established the company in biological therapeutics.
Stuart held positions at Shell Research Limited and the British Technology Group prior to joining Wellcome.
Stuart holds an Honours Degree in Microbiology from the Institute of Biology and is a Chartered Biologist in the UK.
